FREQUENT ASKED QUESTIONS


1 - I live in Barotseland and I don’t have a job, will the Barotseland Free State give me a job?

Reply: The Government of Barotseland in waiting will establish in all towns and cities Job Centres, employment and social support will be given to all Barotseland Royal Citizens.

2 - I am not from Barotseland, but I live in Barotseland, if I don’t have a job will the Barotseland Free State employ me?

Reply: The Government of Barotseland in waiting as drawn up its economic and development policy, job creations in Barotseland is one of its main priorities.

3 - I am a Royal Citizen (or a resident) of Barotseland, and I wish to study, will the Barotseland Free State pay for my school education?

Reply: Any Royal Citizen or legal Resident of Barotseland is allowed to receive full State paid education.

4 - I have finished school, and I am looking for a job, and I want to be a professional person, will the Barotseland Free State government create professional courses, so that I can become a qualified professional, tradesman or tradeswomen?

Reply: The Government of Barotseland in waiting has in its approved job creation policy to create professional and trade courses so that any one can have a trade or profession where by he or she is qualified and have his or her own business.

5 - I am an old person, will I receive any pension from the Government of the Free State of Barotseland?

Reply: Any woman with 60 years old and every men with 65 years old will receive the equivalent to 850,000 Kwacha a month.

6 - I don’t have a house, and I have a family, will Barotseland Free State give me credit and provide me with a house, which I can afford and eventually buy?

Reply: Every family in the Barotseland will have access to a house. Credit facilities and Government help will be available, the Barotseland Free State housing policy allows for the creation and building of new housing estates, to comply with the housing policy of “one family one roof”, in other words, each and every family in Barotseland should have a roof over their heads, which should be owned by each family.

7 – I am not from Barotseland, must I leave when Barotseland becomes Independent, and regains its Sovereignty?

Reply: All residents may stay in Barotseland, they need to regularize their residency status by applying for a residency visa, if you have been a good citizen you can remain in Barotseland. Residents who have criminal convictions will be deported, residents can lodge an appeal, and each case will be considered.

8 - I have property in Barotseland, what will happen to my property after independence?

Reply: Private property constitutes the foundations on which the economy of the state is bases, any private property will remain private.

9 - I am from Northern Rhodesia, what will happen to me my family and my property in Barotseland?

Reply: Your property remains your property and no harm will come to it. Any property damaged during the liberation and independence struggle will receive help and pay from the Barotseland Free State Government.

10 - My son and daughter have joined the Barotseland Free State Police Force, will they be paid?

Reply: All Barotseland Free State employees will receive a full paid salary.

11 - My son and daughter have enlisted in the Royal Barotseland Defence Forces to serve their country, will they be paid?

Reply: All Barotseland Free State employees will receive a full paid salary.

12 - I work for the GRZ, but I am a Barotseland Royal Citizen, will I loose my job?

Reply: You will maintain your job.

13 - I work for the GRZ Police Force, but I am a Barotseland Royal Citizen, will I loose my job?

Reply: You will maintain your job.

14 - I work for the GRZ Army, but I am a Barotseland Royal Citizen, will I loose my job?

Reply: You will maintain your job.

15 – Concerning Medical and Health Services, could you please explain what the plans of the Government of Barotseland in waiting are?

Reply: Medical and Health Service will be given and provided free of charge, all doctors, nurses and medical staff shall be paid by the Government of Barotseland Free State.
